Walking Argentine & Chilean Patagonia

Day 1- RIO GALLEGOS:
Reception at the airport and transfer by combie , via Esperanza, along 300 km. of a very interesting patagonic road populated by its typical fauna such as ñandu (small ostrich), guanacos, hares and foxes. After aprox 5 hrs drive arrival to Estancia Helsingford on the shores of Lago Viedma, for typical BBQ (asado) lunch.

After lunch navigation along the Viedma Lake fro where we’ll appreciate a fantastic view of the Glacier. Return to our hosteriawhere dinner will be served.

Day 2- HELSINGFORD:
After breakfast we start our hike or walk to the Laguna Azul. On the way we’ll enjoy the spectacular view of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre both world renowned for rock climbers.

Once we arrive to Laguna Azul the view is astonishing, the pure white glaciers melting into the deep blue lake. We take lunch at the water’s edge and after lunch we hike back down the trail, onjoying the beauty of this unspoilt land. Arrival to the Estancia for some relax and dinner.

Day 3- HELSINGFORD :
After breakfast departure on our vehicles towards El Calafate, short stop in the village and continue to a working Estancia Nibepo Aike for lunch. After our meal 2 hours horse back ride along an easy trail that follows the edge of the Argentine lake up to CerroFrias .

Return to the estancia and continue by road to Hosteria Los Notros where we’ll spend the following 3 nights Los Notros is a very comfortable, luxury lodge style hotel with 32 guestrooms . Full board.

Day 4 & 5 -LOS NOTROS:
During these 2 days we will enjoy all the activities organized to make t his a memorable stay, such as walking tour to the front of the Perito Moreno Glacier , full day navigation along Argentine Lake to visit Upsala and Onelli glaciers. Full board.

Day 6, 7 & 8 : TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK.
This morning after breakfast we will be transferred by kombie across the lower Andes . After a couple of hours we’ll arrive to Estancia Cancha Carrera for a typical patagonian lunch.

Then we continue to the border between Argentina and Chile . Once we complete all formalities we continue along the road that lead us to Torres del Paine National Park. We arrive at the Hotel Explora where will stay for the next 3 nights. Full board.

During our stay we will enjoy all the hotel facilities such as an indoor pool, sauna jacuzzi and gym. We will be able to make excursions to Laguna Verde, the incredible Glaciar Frances, the spectacular Towers of Paine and the Salto Grande waterfalls. We can also see several of the 150 species of birds in the Park including the Andean condor and the nandu ( american ostriche)

Day 9- PUNTA ARENAS
After breakfast we leave Explora and board our vehicle and head south to Punta Arenas, the southernmost city in Chile. We will stop for lunch at Estancia Cerro Negro, after lunch we’ll visit a Magellanic Penguin colony at Seno Otway ( from Sep to March).
We continue to Punta Arenas and our Hotel JOSE NOGUEIRA for our final night .
This is a very elegant property that was once a private Palace built in the 1800’s for Mrs Sara Braun.
Cocktails and dinner at hotel bar and restaurant.

Day 10- PUNTA ARENAS- BACK HOME:
After breakfast, trasnfer to the local airport to board flight that will take us to Santiago de Chile for a connecting flight back home.
